Now that you've told us about your idea, here is a list of commonly requested features for the TiVo service.
As you are reading the list, you might come across many features that interest you. Please do not select more than ten features from the list. Submissions with more than ten items will not be counted -- sorry!

Trickplay/Live TV:
30-second skip feature
Skip commercials automatically
Adjustable live TV cache (currently 30 minutes of live TV are stored)
When I change the channel, warn me before losing the stored live TV cache
Getting/Managing Recordings:
Automatic padding (when nothing conflicts, automatically record extra time on either side of any
recording)
Video editing, for editing/trimming recorded programs
Restrict Season Passes to a specific timeslot, if show airs multiple times per day/week
Allow Season Passes to record on any channel that airs the program, not just one channel
Advanced conflict resolution (find alternate airings, display conflicts visually, view complete list of
upcoming conflicts, etc.)
Option for WishList recordings: “Never record this program again”
Ability to search for HD recordings specifically
Ability to view or manage your Now Playing and To Do lists online from tivo.com
Miscellaneous Features
Satellite compatibility (TiVo integrated with a satellite receiver)
Record HD from satellite
View currently available disk space ("disk space meter")
Support for Video On Demand (from your cable company)
Actively influence TiVo Suggestions by rating categories like actors, genres, show types, etc.
("Teach TiVo")
Play programs in batch (to set up a few hours of entertainment for your kids, or save shows to a
VCR or DVD recorder)
Ability to turn off the "Recently Deleted" folder
Screen saver
Customizable look and feel (change the colors of the TiVo screens, change the icons, etc.)
Picture-in-picture or picture-in-menu (view a show in a small window while using the menus, or view two
